Spruce Creek
and Warriors Mark Run are prominent natural trout streams in the Spruce
Creek Watershed (part of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed) in Central
Pennsylvania. Since 2001, the Geology Department at Juniata College
has been studying nutrient contamination in these streams to facilitate
improving the water quality for ALL organisms (from trout to people)
that rely upon these important resources. This website includes information
for a wide audience: farmers who want to efficiently utilize the stream
while protecting the environment, other residents of this and similar
watersheds, environmental regulatory agencies, researchers interested
in nutrient-loading, and many others. The four pictures surrounding
this paragraph are links to more detailed in formation. If you are
new to this website, we suggest that you start with "The Watershed"
link to learn where and what these streams are.
