The Health Professions Committee is an interdisciplinary group that provides guidance and support for students and gives direction to the program.

Debra Kirchhof-Glazier, Ph.D., Professor of Biology and Director of the Health Professions Program; teaches in Juniata's MCAT Prep Course and serves as Chair of the Health Professions Committee. She is a member of both the National and Northeast Associations of Advisors for the Health Professions, is on the Board of Directors for the Southcentral PA AHEC, is a contributor to the NAAHP Health Professions Admissions Guide, and was the recipient of national and state awards for Outstanding HOSA Advisor from 1992 to 2009. She serves as general advisor for all students in the program, and is the primary advisor for pre-chiropractic, pre-naturopathic medicine, pre-nursing, pre-pharmacy, pre-physician assistant, and pre-podiatric medicine students.

Fall 2009 Office hours in B201A Brumbaugh Academic Center are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays by appointment (sign-up sheet on the door).

David Hutto, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of English; advises pre-medical students

Kathleen Jones, PhD., Assistant Professor of Education; advises pre-medical and pre-veterinary students

Jill Keeney, Ph.D., Professor of Biology; advises pre-medical students.

Darwin Kysor, Ph.D., the Director of the Career Services Office; advises pre-medical and pre-veterinary students, oversees all internships, provides interview training, and gives the Committee input on employment trends in all health professions fields.

Susan LaVere, Assistant to the Program; serves as a liaison to the professional schools and provides information and assistance for current and prospective students and their families.

Susan Radis, M.S.S., Professor of Social Work and Sociology; advises students in pre-medicine, medical social work, pre-physical therapy, and pre-genetic counseling.

David Widman, Ph.D. Associate Professor of Psychology; advises pre-medical students.

Julie Woodling, M.L.I.S., Head of Library Systems and Technology, advises pre-medical and pre-medical technology students
