Students study on the Galapagos Island; relevant POEs include environmental science, zoology, and ecology. Please note that there are significant extra costs ($2,884 in 2008-09) associated with this program, including funds for domestic transportation to the island, excursions, and course equipment. GAIAS will bill students directly for those costs.

- Regional Information: "The Galapagos Islands, also known as the Archipiélago de Colón, are an archipelago of volcanic islands located along the equator, approximately 600 miles off the West coast of Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean. It has a population of around 25,000 and constitutes one of the 24 provinces of Ecuador. The Islands' fame is attributed to their vast number and variety of species as well as to Charles Darwin's visit to the Islands during the Voyage of the Beagle, which inspired his theory of evolution by natural selection. The archipelago consists of 13 main islands, 6 smaller islands, and 107 rocks and islets." - GAIAS website
