Every trashy, wonderful thing you love about B-horror movies and the timeless, magical poetry of Shakespeare fuse into an unholy union with Juniata Theatre Department’s production of the tragic masterpiece, Macbeth. This Fall, Macbeth sets its twisted tale in a High School, which is rife with climbing jocks, emo witches, evil cheerleaders, geeks, rednecks, and nerds.
This production is not for those who are afraid of the dark or things that go bump in the night. Do not watch this show alone.

We are all bombarded with enticing images of shopping, gambling and sex, and now that they’re available all the time online, they’re even harder to avoid. Casual sex is the stuff of summer blockbusters. Bad day? Try a little retail therapy. Need a break? Plan a casino weekend. In STOP ME BECAUSE I CAN’T STOP MYSELF, Juniata Theatre will work with Atlanta-based Out of Hand Theater to create a first staging of this new work. The format will be a Vegas-style variety show by gambling, shopping and sex addicts with their doctor as the MC, with acts based on interviews with actual addicts. Using real personal stories, delivered through the most popular Vegas formats—magicians, comedians, impersonators, show girls and cover bands—we will invite the audience into the world of these diseases. We will explore the moral, legal and medical sides of these issues: if people with these diseases literally cannot help themselves, can we blame them for their actions, or hold them legally responsible? Where will this argument lead? Where are the boundaries between science, morality and free will?

Juniata Theatre Senior Capstone projects offer our student artists opportunities to create a substantial work to finish their undergraduate theatre training. Students are mentored by professional artists in The Gravity Partners network throughout their senior year as they prepare for their capstone public showings. Students are also partnered with professional designers, and their work is documented through photography and video. The intent is for students to leave Juniata with a portfolio-worthy document that can help them gain access to professional and graduate school opportunities.

Tom Stoppard's delightfully comic and moving play takes the audience back and forth in the same English country house, both in April 1809, and the modern era, 200 years later. The Tony Award Winning Arcadia explores the nature of time and truth, scandal, science and history, academic one-upsmanship, and the disruptive and inviolable influence of sex and love on the trajectories of our lives.

Conceived and Directed by Stephanie Skura (Courduroy Prayer, Two Huts ) Noir Noir Noir is a new work of movement theatre with Film Noir as a jumping off point. This production will be developed over the school year and be devised with the Theatre POE students of the Performance Lab class. Noir Noir Noir will serve as Theatre's contribution to the Liberal Arts Symposium.
